When it comes to cats, there are some that truly stand out, and Finn is one of those exceptional felines. A Maine Coon whose size has grown to an astonishing 1.3 meters long, Finn is so large that he rivals the height of the average 9-year-old child. Not only does his size make him a sight to behold, but it also leaves people doing double-takes when they encounter him. It’s safe to say, Finn is no ordinary cat.

A Gentle Giant with a Personality to Match

Finn’s incredible size is typical for a Maine Coon, a breed known for its impressive stature. However, what makes Finn stand out even more is his gentle nature. Despite his massive frame, Finn is anything but intimidating. As his owner, Natalie, shares, he’s an affectionate, curious, and loving cat who thrives on human interaction. “He’s really funny, always wants cuddles, and has this goofy, endearing quality,” Natalie says, painting a picture of Finn as the perfect companion.

But there’s more to this gentle giant than meets the eye. Finn has a tendency to become quite attached, even to the point of experiencing some separation anxiety when Natalie leaves for work. So, to avoid any distress, Finn often tags along to the office, where he’s a beloved mascot. His social nature extends beyond Natalie, too—he’s got great rapport with her other cat and any guests who stop by.

A Walk in the Park… or More Like a Stroll with a Dog?

When Finn goes out for a walk in his San Carlos neighborhood, he’s bound to turn heads. His size often causes confusion, with some residents even mistaking him for a dog. “It’s so funny,” Natalie laughs. “They think it’s a dog, and then they get closer and realize it’s a cat. It always catches people by surprise, and they just love him.”

Walking Finn is like walking a small lion, thanks to his size and appearance. His large ears and thick coat often lead to comparisons with wildcats like lynxes, but his sweet and playful personality couldn’t be further from that of a wild animal. Finn is incredibly sociable, enjoying interactions with people and other pets.

From Tiny Kitten to Majestic Feline

Finn was just a tiny 3-month-old kitten when Natalie adopted him in 2017. Like most Maine Coons, Finn’s growth was rapid, and as the years passed, he became a true showstopper. By the time he reached full maturity, he had outgrown what most people think of as an ordinary house cat. At 1.3 meters and weighing significantly more than the average cat, Finn is truly in a league of his own.

A Big Appetite for a Big Cat

Given his impressive size, it’s no surprise that Finn has a big appetite to match. Natalie spends around $150 per month feeding him, providing him with 3 to 4 meals a day. Finn’s love for food is so strong that he’s known to practically devour his meals, relishing every bite. “He’s a big foodie,” Natalie chuckles. “He’s always ready for his next meal.”

With a size that often leads people to compare him to wildcats, Finn’s gentle personality is a welcomed surprise. He’s not aloof or ferocious like some might expect—rather, he’s incredibly affectionate and loves spending time with visitors, as well as interacting with other animals in the house.

A Giant with a Heart of Gold

Finn is more than just a giant cat—he’s a unique and lovable character who brings joy wherever he goes. His size is certainly noteworthy, but it’s his affectionate and sociable nature that has truly earned him the title of a beloved companion. Whether he’s surprising strangers with his impressive size or snuggling up with his loved ones, Finn has made a lasting impact on everyone he meets.

If you ever find yourself strolling through San Carlos, you might just catch a glimpse of Finn—a giant cat making the world a little more amazing with each step he takes.
