Your Voice, Your Choice #23 – Abbey Rowe
Today we continue with a great new feature on Belles and Gals – “Your Voice, Your Choice”. We introduce one of our favourite songs from a country artist and then the artist tells us in turn about a song that has inspired them and has a special place in their heart. Today we feature US country artist Abbey Rowe.
It’s always fantastic to feature new artists on Belles and Gals and today we’re lucky enough to play the latest song from Abbey Rowe – ‘Miss Wannabe’. Abbey is a fast-emerging country pop artist and a must-follow on Instagram (instagram.com/abbeyrowemusic).
‘Miss Wannabe’ has attitude, is lyrically clever, fun and a song you’ll certainly have on repeat. I asked Abbey about the song:
“Miss Wannabe actually stems from an experience I had in high school with a boy who definitely had a type. It seemed like every two weeks he was dating a different girl but you would’ve thought they were the same girl because they looked so much alike! I wanted the song to be sassy and funny but also something you could groove to and I love the way we captured that.”
Abbey has chosen ‘Strawberry Wine’ by Deana Carter.
Abbey writes:
“One of my favorite songs of all time is ‘Strawberry Wine’ by Deana Carter. The lyrics and the production are both so raw and real, it inspires me as a songwriter. Every time that song comes on I stop what I’m doing and sing along.”
