Ashley Campbell Set to Release a Brand New Album and Single
The wonderful Ashley Campbell is an artist whose praises we have been singing here at Belles and Gals for several years now, so it’s great hear that she has new music on the way.
9th October 2020 will see the release of her second album, “Something Lovely” (Vacancy Records) in the UK, Ireland and Europe, with two tracks to be released as singles beforehand. This is the follow up to her debut album of 2018, “The Lonely One” which was released on her own label Whistle Stop Records, and while the track listing and writing credits are yet to be confirmed it consists of twelve tracks including the lead single (and title track) which will be released next Friday, 28th August with pre-order for the full album available the same day. The follow-up single, “If I Wasn’t” , featuring the fabulous multi CMA/Grammy winner and Country Music Hall of Fame member Vince Gill, will be released on 18th September.
From what we have been told about this collection, it will have a classic feel (I’m sure Ashley’s trademark banjo playing will help in that respect!) but be brought right up to date thanks to its production and her songwriting. There’s one instrumental in the mix, “Moustache Man” and the closing track sees Ashley’s reworking the Beach Boys classic “Good Vibrations”. And just check out the stunning album cover which sees Ashley wearing a former stage outfit of her fathers, the late great Glenn Campbell of course, which apparently fitted her perfectly unaltered!
Watch out for more album details as soon as we have them!
