This bizarre French customer habit is driving shop owners crazy
When this handsome dark-haired man caught her eye, Audrey couldn’t resist…
I’m no stranger to romantic flings, never hesitating to charm or indulge in pleasure. One evening, at an art gallery event where I work, I noticed a striking man in a gray suit. His delicate features were a sharp contrast to his thick, wavy hair. Since I was there to promote the artwork, I approached him to see if he was interested in any pieces. He casually mentioned he wasn’t really interested; he had just come to meet a friend. His honesty made me laugh. I then asked what he did for a living. “I sell candy,” he replied. Before leaving the opening, he handed me his business card, whispering “if you’re interested in a tasting.” I glanced at the card and realized he worked for a well-known brand and was the Director of Sales for Europe. Fantastic!
I hate making phone calls, so I texted him to find out when the next tasting was. What followed was several days of fiery text exchanges. He sent me photos of himself shirtless, eating gummy bananas and fried egg candies, but most impressively, with the Eiffel Tower lit up behind him. He couldn’t have chosen a better way to win me over. We agreed to meet at his place. Of course, I went all out with my appearance, perfectly groomed and made up. But upon arriving, my first letdown: he was in sweatpants and a crumpled T-shirt, looking like he hadn’t even showered. Well, I know how to handle the rugged types. I entered, somewhat reassured, and quickly made my way to the living room… where two guys were engrossed in a video game. They barely acknowledged me with a quick “hi” as I sat down, utterly bewildered.
It felt like I was in a teenager’s room. I was considering leaving, but then he caught my eye with his hazel gaze and gestured for me to follow him. Okay, maybe he was just overrun by his buddies and hadn’t dared to kick them out. We went to his bedroom, and there, the view was beyond all my expectations. The Eiffel Tower sparkled so close it felt like I could touch it. This lifted my spirits, and he began to caress and undress me. So, no talk then. Given his maturity level, I figured it might be for the best. We got down to business. He was straightforward, allowing only about 20 seconds of foreplay. Quite well-endowed and vigorous, I can’t say he didn’t perform well. However, I quickly lost interest, more fascinated by the twinkling lights outside than by our impersonal encounter. He finished, looking quite pleased with himself. I thought, well good for him, he did give me the Eiffel Tower view. But as I was putting my underwear back on, he looked at me and asked, “Can my friends join in too?” I definitely didn’t see that coming.
I was dumbfounded. I had never heard such a disrespectful proposition, especially delivered so nonchalantly. I stared at him in silence, while he calmly waited for an answer. I remember countless insults flashing through my mind, but I was so shocked I couldn’t utter a single word. I think I managed to say something like “no thanks,” as if he had just offered me a beer! The worst part was, he then went back to his FIFA game, and I, not knowing what else to do, watched them play for a few minutes. But I left soon after, feeling deeply unsettled inside. While I can laugh about it now, I remember feeling very sad that evening. And I didn’t even get a bag of candies to cheer me up. Thankfully, I’m now 40 and happily settled down.
