  • Bay leaf

Preparation

    Peel and finely slice the onion. Peel the garlic and crush it.

    Blanch the cabbage leaves in boiling water for 5 minutes. Drain and refresh under cold water. Remove the central rib and slice the cabbage.

    In a pot, sauté the bacon, garlic, and onion for a few minutes without browning.

    Peel the carrots, potatoes, and turnip. Chop these vegetables into small cubes and add them to the onions. Increase the heat slightly to lightly sear them.

    Add the cabbage, a liter of water, the broth cube, bay leaves, and thyme.
  6. To finish

    Seal the pot and cook on low heat for 12 minutes from when it begins to whistle. Remove the bay leaves and thyme before serving the soup.
