6,000 Square Meters of Aquatic Adventures Coming in Summer 2026

Imagine 6,000 square meters dedicated to aquatic adventures—a new and unparalleled attraction set to debut in a renowned European amusement park by summer 2026. This unique addition is poised to captivate both families and thrill-seekers alike.

The Quintessential Summer Experience

Just like a day at the beach, complete with sandcastles and beach volleyball, water parks have become a staple of family summer vacations. Parents can relax in the sun, perhaps with a cocktail in hand, while kids enjoy themselves on slides, wave pools, and other attractions. It’s the perfect balance of refreshing swims and exciting adventures that kids can’t wait to share with their friends when school resumes.

To attract visitors during the hot summer days, amusement parks are doubling down on their efforts to offer new and thrilling experiences. In particular, a famous European park is going all out for the 2026 season by introducing a brand-new 6,000-square-meter water zone. This area will feature a water coaster unique in Europe and a world-first adventure pool.

A Pirate’s Cove Resurfaces

This new area will expand the Caribe Aquatic Park at PortAventura World, a popular theme park located about an hour from Barcelona, Spain. Named “Coral Bay: The Lost Legend,” this section is designed to resemble a pirate bay that has been submerged for centuries before resurfacing from the ocean’s depths. In addition to new slides, a dining area, and a kiddie pool, Coral Bay’s hallmark will be its adventure pool and aquatic obstacle course—designed to be an interactive water experience rather than just a simple swim. While PortAventura has revealed few details so far, this new feature is expected to provide unparalleled excitement for the whole family.

As for the “unique in Europe” water roller coasters, PortAventura is keeping details under wraps. We can speculate that it might be a large water coaster similar to those found in American or Asian parks, offering a unique blend of sensations and technology. However, we’ll have to wait until summer 2026 to experience these promising attractions.

More Than Just a Water Park

Beyond this aquatic zone, PortAventura World is also set to unveil another new feature in the summer of 2026. “Makamanu Jungle: The Adventure Trek” will be a tree-top adventure course opening in the Polynesia area of PortAventura Park. This attraction will include secret walkways, suspension bridges, and various acrobatics, sure to delight both young and old explorers alike. When it comes down to choosing between a peaceful summer by the sea or a vacation filled with thrills, it might be a tough decision!
