Spirou Park is a family-friendly destination that delights children. For the 2022 season, explore a new world and two brand-new attractions!

[Updated April 21, 2022]. Spirou Park, located in Monteux a few kilometers from Avignon, opens its doors on April 9, 2022. This new season, the comic-themed park introduces a new world and two new attractions.

Spirou Park: What’s New for 2022?

The 2022 season at Spirou Park promises to be thrilling with the summer opening of a new 4000 sqm area: the Kid Paddle Zone! Within this area, two new attractions await visitors. The first is a roller coaster, the Blorks Attack. Kid Paddle and Horace, as usual, are playing a video game and find themselves aboard a flying saucer piloted by a Blork, gliding along a track covered in slime… just like the visitors who board it. And there’s more: this shuttle is a diskO Coaster, meaning it spins as it moves! The second new attraction is the Aqua Slime Project, a vegetative and aquatic labyrinth for the whole family. You must find your way while dodging Blorks in their saucers, or risk being covered in sticky slime. The zone will also feature a new shop and a new dining area. Don’t miss the Comic Festival on May 7 and 8, a chance to meet your children’s favorite authors.

Which Comic Book Characters Are at Spirou Park?

Spirou Park offers an immersion into the wonderful world of heroes from Dupuis publications. The entire park is designed to match the spirit of the 1950s comics, a real journey through time alongside Spirou, Spip, Fantasio, Seccotine, Count of Champignac, as well as Gaston Lagaffe, Lucky Luke, Marsupilami and this year’s newcomers: Zombillenium and Boule and Bill! Opened in 2018, the Park has since won over many fans and kicks off its second season with lots of new features and the arrival of beloved new characters.

What Attractions to Experience at Spirou Park?

Spirou Park offers a variety of attractions to please the whole family. Thrill-seekers will enjoy the intense rides and roller coasters, while younger guests can enjoy calmer, but equally creative attractions. The activities available utilize digital technology, interactivity, and mechanical effects. Three new comic book characters from Dupuis editions made their debut in 2020: Petit Poilu, Game Over, and Supergroom. Five must-see attractions include: the new 3D digital and sensory simulator, SuperGroom and the Dinozorgs. Crash Blork provides intense thrills for older guests, while younger visitors can enjoy the mini Ferris wheel Boule and Bill déboulent, the Spirou Parade carousel, and the Petit Poilu playground.

Last year, Spirou Park introduced two new attractions for families. The first: On the Trail of the Marsus, is a walking path that reveals many plants, sounds, and animals of the Palombian forest. The second, Slapsh Piranha, is a humorous and refreshing water ride! Families board a water lily and have fun spraying others with water cannons. But watch out: cannons positioned along the path can spray you too! This season is also an opportunity to discover Secret Palombie, the revamped former attraction Spip Jumper. 120 animals inspired by the comic book and the South American jungle have been installed, along with multi-zone sound. Visitors can also explore Lucky Town, a street inspired by the world of Lucky Luke, and Marsu Jungle, a shaded area with vegetation, waterfalls, and streams for a cool break.

The Roller Coasters

  • The Marsupilamis’ Nest. A fully vertical roller coaster 30 meters high that follows an unusual 117-meter long track. Not for the faint-hearted, suitable for those over 1.20m!
  • Boule and Bill Déboulent. A launched roller coaster reaching speeds of 26km/h, accessible for children over 1m tall.
  • Onward Seccotine. Fantasio’s colleague, Seccotine, takes the whole family on her scooter through a challenging course.
  • Wanted Dalton. A roller coaster themed around the most famous cowboy, suitable for fun family rides for those over 1m tall.
  • Spirou Racing. In this roller coaster train, you’ll be launched at over 76 km/h on a track designed more like a car race than a traditional coaster!

Family Attractions

The Park, situated on a 4-hectare site, is a true family destination offering a wide range of attractions suitable for all ages. Flying chairs, carousels, and slides are all part of the fun for both young and old.

Digital Simulators

  • Watch Out for Gaston. This simulator invites you to board one of Gaston Lagaffe’s inventions!
  • Marsu Adventure. Join Marcel, Marcia, and Marceau for this turbulent journey in total immersion. This journey with the Marsupilamis is presented in 6D on a giant screen.
  • Mesoizoïk Island. The perfect attraction for all dinosaur enthusiasts.

Thrill Rides

  • Eviv Bulgroz. This starshape, with its 30-meter long mechanical arm, propels visitors 360° into space at over 100 km/h. An intense experience reaching accelerations of up to 4.1 G, suited for the bravest.
  • Zombillénium Tower. This drop tower stands 90 meters tall and plunges down at 140 km/h! Definitely not for the faint-hearted.
