Futuroscope is expanding once again, introducing a new feature called “Mission Bermuda”. Located just outside Poitiers, the park welcomed the media for a sneak peek. We liked it, but…

Futuroscope is showing no signs of slowing down, revealing its lofty ambitions with the launch of the Mission Bermuda attraction, a project that cost a handsome 25 million euros. This water-based family attraction welcomes children over 1.05 meters tall.

The unveiling of Mission Bermuda was quite the spectacle, attended by none other than the Minister of Tourism, Nathalie Delattre, who expressed her delight at the new addition. Delattre is no stranger to the park, having visited several times with her own children. Some impressive stats accompany this 2025 debut: a 457-meter boat journey, 7000 square meters of immersive scenery, and capacity for 1000 riders per hour. The promise? Embark on a rescue mission to find a team of explorers lost in the infamous Bermuda Triangle.

So, what’s the verdict on Mission Bermuda? On the positive side, the scenery boasts promising features like simulated rapids, water curtains, and an aquatic vortex. However, despite claims of planting 4500 trees and plants, the lush vegetation isn’t quite palpable, and a few more towering palms wouldn’t hurt. Another highlight is the “spatio-temporal portal,” a sort of elevator that lifts the boat into the air and sets it on a track for a thrilling 16-meter drop. For those in the front, expect a refreshing splash, especially welcome on hot days.

Overall, the attraction is quite enjoyable, though it leaves something to be desired in terms of thrills. However, it’s important to remember that Futuroscope, now embracing its identity as a theme park, primarily caters to families. The rides need to be enjoyable for young children without being too intense. For those seeking more excitement, the park offers other attractions like Tornado Hunters and Mission to Mars.

Future visitors can look forward to experiencing Mission Bermuda starting June 28, 2025. Until then, the technical and creative team has promised to make some “adjustments” to the attraction. Notably, it features Rocking Boats, innovative hybrid vehicles specially developed by MACK Rides for Futuroscope.
