Gayle King Celebrates Career Milestone
Gayle King recently honored an ongoing tradition as she celebrated her 13th anniversary with “CBS Mornings.”
The esteemed broadcast journalist commemorated the occasion by donning her iconic yellow and white color-blocked dress. She first wore this Alex Kramer design on her debut as a co-host in 2012. Since then, King has made it a point to wear the same dress each year on her work anniversary.

King’s celebration was shared with her co-anchors, Nate Burleson and Vladimir Duthiers, who joined in marking her 13th year at CBS.
During the broadcast, Burleson pointed out King’s choice of attire, saying, “You guys might recognize Gayle is wearing a familiar yellow dress.” He then presented King with a bouquet of yellow roses, a thoughtful gesture from Drew Barrymore.
Viewers were treated to a montage of King wearing her special dress over the years, displayed on the screen during the show.
Reflecting on the Moment
King took a moment to reflect on her anniversary, acknowledging the current events affecting the world. “It feels so trivial given the wildfires in Los Angeles right now,” she commented on her anniversary.
“But we have to find moments to celebrate,” Burleson added, supporting the sentiment.
Expressing her gratitude and mixed emotions, King responded, “I am thrilled to be here 13 years later, yet my thoughts are still with those in California. Thank you for these beautiful flowers.”
Compliments and Humility
Burleson also complimented King, who recently graced the cover of Sports Illustrated at 70, remarking, “And Gayle, I must say, you are wearing that dress magnificently, you’ve aged like fine wine.”
Modestly, King replied by describing her beloved dress as somewhat “tattered,” though her elegance suggests otherwise.
