Diamonds truly are a woman’s closest companion.

Kendall Jenner dazzled attendees at Vogue World 2025: Hollywood on Sunday by donning the crystal-studded bodysuit that Nicole Kidman wore while portraying Satine in the 2001 movie “Moulin Rouge!”

The 29-year-old model graced the runway at Paramount Studios in the iconic “Black Diamond” attire crafted by Catherine Martin, the Oscar-winning costume designer for the film directed by Baz Luhrmann.

The breathtaking outfit included a black and silver corseted bodysuit with a high-low skirt adorned with Swarovski crystals, sequins, and bugle beads arranged in a pattern reminiscent of fish scales.

Complementing the ensemble were fishnet tights, ornate Mary Jane heels, a crystal-bedazzled top hat created by Rosie Boylan, and elegant diamond drop earrings.

The event featured a memorable moment when Nicole Kidman herself opened the show just moments before, performing “Put the Blame on Mame” in a bespoke black Chanel satin bustier gown, designed by Matthieu Blazy, the new artistic director of the esteemed French fashion house.

Baz Luhrmann, a favored creative of both Anna Wintour—Conde Nast’s global chief creative officer and Vogue’s global editorial director—provided creative direction for the spectacle.

Martin, along with co-designer Angus Strathie, had previously won the Academy Award for Best Costume Design for their work on “Moulin Rouge!”

The Black Diamond attire originally appeared in the film during a scene where Kidman’s character, Satine, makes a dramatic entrance into a Paris nightclub on a trapeze, performing “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend.”

The bodysuit is a marvel of design, lavishly decorated with beaded fringe, a velvet neckline bordered with diamante, and straps encrusted with crystals. Martin shared a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram showcasing the meticulous process of recreating the ensemble.

The original costume is now part of the Swarovski “Masters of Light — Hollywood” exhibition in Los Angeles, available for public viewing until November 3.

Vogue World: Hollywood was a celebration of the profound dialogue between cinema and fashion, with all ticket sales going to support costume professionals impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires in January 2025, via the Entertainment Community Fund.
