Kristen Doute Slams Lisa Vanderpump for ‘Enabling’ James Kennedy’s Toxic Actions

The conflict continues unabated.

Kristen Doute labeled Lisa Vanderpump as “diabolical” for her role in “encouraging” James Kennedy’s aggressive actions, following his arrest on charges of domestic violence.

Speaking to Us Weekly on Thursday, Vanderpump reported that she had a lengthy conversation with both Kennedy and his now-ex-girlfriend Ally Lewber about their supposed confrontation.

Lewber firmly told Vanderpump that Kennedy “did not harm her.”

“He never harms her. They had both been drinking,” Vanderpump, aged 64, explained to the magazine, before sharing her version of the events that transpired.

The former star of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” who described herself as a “maternal figure” to Kennedy, mentioned that the ex-couple was “both acting foolishly and arguing,” which led a neighbor to call the authorities.

Lewber allegedly stated, “‘Oh yes, take him away. It’ll teach him a lesson,'” according to Vanderpump. “But no, he categorically did not harm her… She regrets how everything escalated,” Vanderpump added.

Upon reading the article, Doute took to her Instagram Story on Friday to criticize her previous “Vanderpump Rules” employer.

While reposting the article link, Doute commented, “absolutely and disgustingly diabolical.”

“I will never, ever condone this continual pattern of enabling abuse. The gall to downplay both the facts and the feelings involved makes me sick,” she added in a follow-up Story.

“To every woman who has survived domestic violence and felt unsupported or disbelieved, I am deeply sorry,” expressed Doute, who is currently pregnant with her first child with fiancé Luke Broderick.

Since her brief relationship with Kennedy in 2015, Doute has been vocal about the alleged abuse she endured from the DJ.

Following their frequent on-air arguments on “Pump Rules,” Doute asserted that Kennedy used her to gain a spot on the show.

“James knew exactly what he was doing to win me over,” she shared with Bravo’s “The Daily Dish” in 2015.

“He timed his approach perfectly — when I was isolated from friends. He knew to avoid acting like Tom [Sandoval] and to sidestep being unpleasant, which made me like him,” the 41-year-old elaborated.

“He also knew I have a tendency to want to fix damaged souls. He did his research thoroughly and played me perfectly until he secured his status on the show and then he ended things with me,” she continued.

Seven years after their breakup, Doute also accused Kennedy, then 33, of being physically abusive during their time together.

In December 2024, Kennedy, originally from England, was arrested following a heated dispute with Lewber, 28.

An eyewitness at the scene alleged that the Bravo celebrity grabbed Lewber and threw her to the ground, though no visible injuries were reported when the police arrived.

A week following his arrest, Lewber was observed moving her belongings out of the house they shared, and by late January, it was confirmed that they had parted ways.

Addressing the fact that Kennedy faced no charges, Lewber commented in an Instagram Story, “I’m relieved that the prosecutors chose not to press charges against James, as I never wanted him criminally charged.

“We had a disagreement outside his house about him drinking again, but I wasn’t physically injured,” she stated, expressing her surprise and disappointment at the media’s portrayal of Kennedy’s arrest.

“We’re no longer together, but I continue to support James and wish him the best in his journey towards sobriety and recovery. Thank you for understanding,” she concluded.

For his part, Kennedy has committed to maintaining his focus on his sobriety following the incident. The couple had been together for two years prior to their separation.
