This Monday, Sabrina Carpenter sparked excitement on Instagram by posting a video that hints at upcoming music. In the clip, she flaunts her physique in a pair of daringly short denim shorts.
Facing away from the camera, the 26-year-old “Espresso” singer tries to thumb a ride in a remote location, clad in her revealing shorts, a cropped white blouse tied at the front, and strikingly tall baby blue heels.
While Carpenter is no stranger to wearing short shorts, these might just be the smallest she’s ever sported.
In the footage, Carpenter’s trademark long blonde curls—usually styled by famed hairstylist Laurie Heaps—are more voluminous than ever, cascading just past her shoulders.
There’s no sound in the video until a second car zooms past without stopping. Carpenter, standing beside a suitcase, chuckles and exclaims, “Oh boy.”
Spotify’s Instagram handle commented humorously, “how dare they not stop for Sabrina???” Sephora chimed in with a playful, “*hops in car* we’re on our way Sabrina!!”
Another fan expressed enthusiasm, writing, “SUMMER OF SABRINA AND MAY IT CONTINUE FOREVER”
Some fans speculate that Carpenter is teasing new music, with one commenting, “thank GOD we’ve been starving for a song of the year.”
Others are eager to decode the mysterious video. One fan pleaded, “SABRINA WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO TELL US.” Another demanded, “WHAT DOES IT MEAN?”
It appears that the former Disney star is gearing up to drop a new track, possibly titled “Manchild.” Billboards have begun to appear with potential lyrics and the name, alongside phrases like “Amen,” “Hey men!” and “I swear they choose me, I’m not choosing them.”
Last August, Carpenter released her acclaimed album “Short n’ Sweet” and followed up with an extended version on Valentine’s Day.
In September, she embarked on the “Short n’ Sweet” tour to promote her sixth studio album, touring across North America and Europe. Next month, she’s set to headline Lollapalooza.
