Discover the groundbreaking tip from makeup artist Charly Salvator for instantly lifting droopy eyelids without surgery.
Eyes often reveal the first signs of tiredness, aging, or just genetic quirks. One of the most frustrating features for many when they look in the mirror is droopy eyelids. Whether it’s been a lifelong trait or something that develops with skin laxity over time, it’s marked by an excess of upper eyelid skin that partially or completely covers the mobile eyelid. The result? A tired, sometimes sad appearance, and a significantly smaller-looking eye.
In response to this, many women feel defeated or believe that only cosmetic surgery can refresh their eyes. However, before taking such drastic steps, makeup remains a powerful tool for transformation, provided it’s used correctly. Indeed, improperly applied eyeshadow can make matters worse. Recently, makeup artist Charly Salvator shared an astonishingly simple technique that can transform the eyes in seconds.
To appreciate Charly Salvator’s method, it’s important to first recognize our common mistakes. With droopy eyelids, the initial instinct is often to apply a dark eyeshadow across the entire mobile eyelid to mimic and recreate a crease. This is exactly the mistake that undermines all efforts. By spreading the color uniformly, it only serves to darken the area, creating a heavy effect that visually “squashes” the eye.
To try Charly’s trick at home, you only need your concealer (or a very light cream eyeshadow), your usual eyeshadow, and a blending brush. Charly uses Violette_FR’s Plume Eyeshadow, a product created by makeup artist Violette Serrat. It’s a cream that transforms into a powder once applied to the skin.
Instead of starting with color, Charly Salvator first applies highlights using a cream eyeshadow or a liquid concealer. He places the product at three strategic points on the eyelid: the inner corner of the eye, the exact center of the mobile eyelid, and at the outer corner, stretching slightly towards the temple to initiate an upward “lifting” effect. Rather than sweeping his colored eyeshadow over the entire area, he applies color only in the gaps, i.e., precisely between the points where the concealer has been placed. The dark color then sits in the natural shadow areas, surrounded by light touches. Next, he uses a soft brush to gently blend everything together. By tapping and making light circular motions, the boundaries between light and color fade. The eye instantly appears larger, more open, and the gaze regains a dynamic and sparkling expression.
With a few simple geometric strokes, makeup becomes a precise science that enhances the beauty of the eyes. This foolproof method is a must-try for anyone looking to say goodbye to tired eyes!
