Man on the Moon – Stanford Road
Here is the brilliant new song from Stanford Road, a duo who need no introduction to readers of Belles and Gals – check out our interview with Terry and Rachael that took place last summer here. What particularly stands out with Stanford Road are their brilliant harmonies and this is the case again here.
This song has a fascinating back story. It’s part of a project that has been put together by Charlotte Elizabeth, who is releasing an EP in the coming weeks. Charlotte isn’t a musician, but she sure knows how to write, so she has a collection of some of the best acts on the UK country scene performing her songs. I asked Charlotte about the writing of ‘Man on the Moon’ and this is what she said,
“Man on the Moon is about the emotion of a first love. The feelings of a new, young relationship and the lasting memories and feelings that it creates. People talk about planets aligning, our paths being written in the stars etc etc and I took this metaphor to inspire the song. Stanford Road took this idea and created a beautiful, melodic song and I am very proud to have worked with them”
One thing is for sure – Stanford Road and Charlotte make for a great combination – look out for our full EP review coming soon!
