Ward Thomas are just one month away from the release of their long awaited upcoming album ‘Restless Minds‘ (February 1st) which is a record focusing on major Millennial issues such as social media use, anxiety and pressure of not being enough.
It promises to be a major standout from the 24-year-old twin sisters whose last LP ‘Cartwheels’ made chart history back in 2016 when it topped the UK Official Album Chart making them the first ever British country act to achieve the hugely impressive feat.
So far the Hampshire natives have shared a number of topical singles off their most personal album to date, including the uplifting, folk infused ‘I Believe In You’, the empowering pop crossover ‘Never Know’, socially topical ‘Lie Like Me’, heartfelt ballad ‘No Fooling Me’ and most recently the stunning country vibed ‘No Filter’.
These issues are close to the girls’ hearts as they recently confirmed in an interview with the Guardian that they suffer from social anxiety made worse by spending too much time on social media endlessly scrolling. This need for constant information is major inspiration behind ‘Restless Minds’, and has prompted Catherine and Lizzy to announce that they will be doing a no scroll Sunday from January 7th as part of their New Year’s Resolutions for 2019.
In addition to taking a break from social media for the sake of their health and well-being, the duo will also be hitting the road in support of their new LP in February, March and April. Tickets for what promises to be a spectacular string of live dates are on sale now.
But before the LP drops and the tour kicks off, Ward Thomas will release the official music video for their latest single ‘No Filter’. This track is all about being true to yourself and is one of their best releases to date. The twins shared the lyric video back in December to much acclaim:
And today (January 2nd) the homegrown country superstars confirmed that the official clip for the poignant single will be premiering on January 8th:
