Amy Sedaris is setting her sights high for 2026.
He thought he was rescuing a sheep—but it turned out to be something else
This bizarre French customer habit is driving shop owners crazy
From her home in Greenwich Village, Sedaris shares her holiday season traditions and tips with Page Six Style, including a celebrity-owned brand she actually purchases from. She starts by revealing that we both share the Aries zodiac sign.
The iconic comedienne shares that the upcoming year looks promising for Aries. “You should really get into astrology,” she jokes.
For holiday preparations, Sedaris likes to get her shopping done early to enjoy watching the chaos of last-minute shoppers. “There’s nothing more amusing than seeing them scramble for terrible gifts. I always think, ‘Nobody wants that!'” she laughs.
Another amusing sight for her is the ill-prepared individuals at the post office. “They never have tape. It’s all just shoved into odd envelopes. I really feel for the recipients,” she says.
However, it’s at the post office where she honed her excellent packing skills, thanks to the staff there.
To show her appreciation, she gives postal workers $25 Dunkin’ Donuts gift cards, which she always has on hand in her purse. “It’s a nice little thank you for people who make your day easier,” she explains.
Though she keeps her hosting duties minimal, there’s one pantry item she can’t get enough of.
Mike’s Philly Fluff Pound Cake
She mentions that Mike’s Philly Fluff Pound Cake is her top gift choice for the year, praising its exceptional taste.
Sedaris also sells her handcrafted items at a local shop, Locavore, with the proceeds benefiting charities like New York City’s animal control and City Harvest.
An author of a crafts book, “Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People,” she notes that while Christmas is a prime time for DIY gifts, they need to be practical. “No one in New York has room for a pointless glitter macaroni project,” she states plainly.
When friends come over to craft, she serves a hearty pot of pasta with salad and saves room for her favorite pound cake or Li-Lac dark chocolate-covered pretzels.
Her pasta evenings often feature Invivo, a wine by fellow New Yorker Sarah Jessica Parker, which Sedaris highly praises. “It’s not just a plug for Sarah; her wine is genuinely excellent and makes a great gift,” she asserts.

Additionally, Sedaris recently teamed up with Amy’s Kitchen, promoting their frozen enchiladas as a perfect quick meal or gift, especially for single men. She appreciates the company’s small business ethos.
Amy’s Kitchen
Amy’s Kitchen is currently offering a $12 discount with the promo code AMYSNIGHTOFF on Instacart through December 31, as part of their “Night off” campaign, encouraging a break from cooking.
Her top holiday tip? She spends the holiday dinner at her brother David’s place, where “his boyfriend handles everything,” so she can relax fully.
While Sedaris is excited about big plans for 2026, she’s ready to move beyond her “Girl Scout Amy Sedaris” phase and embrace an era of “abundance,” hoping to manifest all that it entails.
