The publication 60 Million Consumers recently conducted tests on various dietary supplements that promise better skin health. One product in particular stood out from the rest.
The dietary supplement market has been booming in recent years. These products are developed for a variety of purposes: enhancing joint health, improving skin appearance, fighting wrinkles, detoxifying the body, and aiding digestion, to name a few. In its March issue, 60 Million Consumers delved into this crowded and sometimes confusing market to conduct comprehensive testing of products available in pharmacies and supermarkets alike. The focus was specifically on products intended for skin care. The evaluation considered several factors. “In the lab, we looked for contaminants commonly found in these types of products (heavy metals, mycotoxins, pesticides), which depend on the type of active ingredients used (agricultural and marine products),” the publication noted on its website.
Furthermore, the publication also checked the accuracy of the ingredient lists on the labels and each product’s compliance. This involved reviewing lists from the General Directorate for Food (DGAL) and the Compl’Alim website to verify warnings, maximum allowable doses, and the validity of health claims against European standards. After extensive analysis, one product stood out with an impressive score of 18.8/20: the Skin Beauty Complex 4+ by Flora Natura. This product is sold in ampoule form and costs approximately $10.89. It contains no traces of pesticides, heavy metals, or mycotoxins, and its composition has been validated by the experts at the publication. The product includes a variety of organic plants such as aloe vera, dandelion, nettle, wild pansy, and primrose. This combination helps maintain healthy skin, reduce imperfections, protect the skin from free radicals, and provide relief for dry skin. Essentially, it offers a comprehensive range of benefits.
However, it’s important to note that 60 Million Consumers did not test the effectiveness of the products, as this was not included in their scoring criteria. The article also highlights a surprising point: “The status of a dietary supplement does not require proof of effectiveness to be marketed.” This does not mean that anything goes; as previously mentioned, health claims allowed are regulated by European legislation. Therefore, it’s up to you to try the Skin Beauty Complex 4+ by Flora Natura and form your own opinion.
