The beloved Gaul-themed amusement park is set to reopen its gates on April 4, 2026, with a host of surprises for families. From the highly anticipated overhaul of the Egypt zone, to a brand-new summer show, and ever more thrilling rides, here’s what’s in store for you this year at Parc Astérix!
Parc Astérix continues to evolve, delighting both young and old! Embarking on an extensive development plan, the park in Oise will kick off its 2026 season on April 4th. While the classic attractions that have made the park famous will still be there, this new year is marked by major enhancements, perfect for a family getaway. Here’s the lineup.
Expansion of Parc Astérix’s Egypt Zone
The big news for the 2026 season is the completion of the Egypt zone’s transformation after three years of renovations! For this occasion, several family-friendly attractions have been revamped to blend seamlessly into this pharaonic setting. First, the Descent of the Nile: the former water ride, the Oxygénarium, has been rebranded. Get ready for a refreshing adventure along the sacred river, with a completely redesigned queue and boarding station. Next, The Flight of the Ibis: the traditional flying chairs have completed their transformation amidst new vegetation and a charming body of water. Lastly, The Counters of Epidemaïs: starting in June 2026, the restaurant Le Cirque will be transformed to offer a brand-new culinary experience inspired by the voyages of the famous Phoenician merchant.
What are Parc Astérix’s Highlight Attractions?
Since 1989, Parc Astérix has offered rides and shows that immerse visitors in the world of the famous comic book by René Goscinny. Over the years, some attractions have become legendary like Oziris, Goudurix, the Roman River with its giant buoys, and more recently the roller coaster Toutatis, and Pégase Express, a thrilling train journey through the Ancient World. Not to mention the must-see Thunder of Zeus, featuring a unique 90-degree incline, the only one of its kind in Europe.
Activities for young children: the Golden Boar playground, the Viking playground, the Little Oak playground, Panoramix’s playground, as well as the Little Bumper Cars, The Galley, The Little Drakkars, The Squadron of Aces, The Little Flying Chairs, The Mini Carousel, Lavomatix, Enigmatix, Hydrolix, Etamine, Aerodynamix, the Little Train, and more…. A total of over a dozen attractions are dedicated to them.
What Shows to Watch at Parc Astérix?
Beyond the rides, Parc Astérix visitors can also enjoy numerous shows, including the famous “Gaulish parade”. There are also The Dives of Olympus, where four Greek athletes and four Roman athletes compete in a breathtaking diving contest at the Theatre of Poseidon. Those who enjoy stunts, acrobatics, and humor will also want to catch the show Main Basse sur la Joconde.
The Grand Return of Parc Astérix’s Nighttime Show
Great news for families who love to extend the magic into the evening! From July 11 to August 30, 2026, the park will close at 10 PM and will feature a brand-new nighttime show over the lake. For the first time, Parc Astérix will combine drone ballets, fountains, lasers, and pyrotechnics to tell a new story in the world of our favorite Gauls. The famous Gaulish Banquet will also be back this summer for dinner with Astérix and Obélix!
Fear at the Park: What’s New at Parc Astérix for the End of the Year
For Fear at the Park 2026, the Halloween event is packed with new features following the closure of Rue de Paris (which will make way for the future “Londinium” zone in 2028). On the agenda: a new major show in the Roman arenas, a dance show at the Camp of the Steel Blades, a terrifying forest trail, and a new “scare zone” in Egypt. In December, the Gaulish Christmas will bring back the magic with its covered ice rink, Christmas market, Obelix’s Slide, and festive parade.
What are Parc Astérix’s Hotels for a Memorable Family Stay?
Within Parc Astérix, there are three hotels each with their own unique theme to transport visitors even in their rooms: Les Quais de Lutèce, which immerses guests completely in the comic book world; La Cité Suspendue, entirely built from wood and consisting of three hamlets connected by walkways; and Les Trois Hiboux, offering a unique stay in the heart of the forest in an authentic and cozy atmosphere.
