Today (Oct. 31), Greeicy released the official remix of “A Veces A Besos,” featuring Kapo.
The eagerly awaited remix arrives four months following the debut of the original song in mid-June. Both versions were produced by the Latin Grammy winner Ovy on the Drums.
The song “A Veces A Besos,” which means “sometimes with kisses,” blends mid-tempo reggaetón with pop in a way that exudes sensuality through both sound and lyrics. The remix, enhanced by Kapo, maintains the same liberating and sultry vibe but introduces his distinctive raspy voice and relaxed afrobeat tunes.
In the song about two friends entangled in a romantic affair, Greeicy sings, “I know that in front of the world we’re friends / but when we’re alone our kisses are on the mouth / we both feel like we’re lying / but who doesn’t make mistakes?” Kapo responds with, “Oh my friend, princess of an endless story that I want to read.”
Greeicy shared with Billboard exclusively, “I hadn’t planned on doing a remix… but Kapo is from Cali, my hometown, and I feel that our city is experiencing some beautiful developments. Artistically, this new movement is very strong, with long-standing artists beginning to gain recognition. I thought it would be wonderful to collaborate on this remix, especially with him. I deeply connect with him and absolutely love his music and energy. I’m a fan. This song is very important for our people and our city.”
The remix was launched during Greeicy’s Greeicy-Yeliana World Tour, which started on Oct. 12 in Puerto Rico and will conclude on Nov. 3 in Tampa.
The original “A Veces A Besos” climbed to number 11 on the Billboard Latin Pop Airplay chart and is currently in its 10th week on the chart. The song has also gained significant traction on social media, spurring the creation of over 160,000 videos on TikTok alone, fueled by a viral dance trend featured in the official music video, where Greeicy encourages fans to move to the song’s provocative rhythm.
