Famous Actor Joe Pantoliano Considers Leaving the U.S. Post-Election

Joe Pantoliano, renowned for his role in “The Sopranos,” is thinking about relocating overseas following the election of President Trump.

At the premiere of “Tucci in Italy” this week, Pantoliano expressed his discomfort to Page Six, saying, “I’m so uncomfortable with the nature of what’s happening in our country, and I just want to run for the hills.”

The veteran actor, with more than 150 acting credits, admitted that the turmoil in the current political landscape is distracting him from his career.

Struggling to Focus Amidst Political Chaos

“It’s difficult to focus on trivial matters like TV shows when the world seems to be in chaos,” he remarked, indicating how the ongoing political situation is affecting his ability to work.

Pantoliano also mentioned that he and his wife, Nancy Sheppard, are considering moving to Portugal after a recent visit there. “We just got back. We really love it there,” he shared, despite concerns about the recent 18-hour power outage affecting Spain and Portugal due to a cyberattack.

He suggested that the cyberattack might be a precursor to similar events in the U.S., saying, “I think that’s just a rehearsal for what will happen here.” To prepare for potential emergencies, Pantoliano mentioned he keeps some cash stashed at home, humorously adding that it’s hidden without a map.

If he does decide to move, Pantoliano will join a list of celebrities who have relocated following Trump’s election.

Other Celebrities Who Have Left the U.S.

Eva Longoria of “Desperate Housewives” fame expressed her disillusionment with America in an interview with Marie Claire, describing it as “dystopian.” She now splits her time between Central America and Europe with her husband, José Bastón, and their son, Santiago.

Longoria voiced concerns about the future of the U.S., suggesting it could become a “scary place” should the president fulfill his promises.

Similarly, Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, have chosen the British countryside as their new home. Though they purchased their UK residence before the election, Trump’s victory solidified their decision to leave the U.S.

Rosie O’Donnell relocated to Ireland shortly after the election results. She moved following an unsettling encounter at a grocery store with her youngest child, Clay, who uses they/them pronouns. On TikTok, O’Donnell shared that the move has significantly improved her health and sleep, reducing the stress and anxiety from the U.S. political climate.

“The View” alum highlighted that Clay is thriving in Ireland, emphasizing that the move was a necessary step for their family’s safety and well-being.
