A police report from Palm Beach in September details that Lisa Aldridge, 62, became agitated when a group of children playing soccer nearby threatened her peace in the pool area. She warned them about kicking the ball towards her.
Aldridge later explained to the police that shortly after the confrontation, one of the children—a friend of Dodge’s son aged 8—handed her an inappropriate playing card.
An informant revealed to us that the card was a Playboy collectible from the 1980s, featuring a woman in a bikini.
John F. Dodge III, aged 42, observed Aldridge scolding the children and approached to intervene.
An eyewitness recounted seeing Dodge approach Aldridge, abruptly take the card from her hand, and pocket it.
The witness further noted that Aldridge attempted to retrieve the card, which led to a physical altercation where she struck Dodge several times.
Dodge reported to the authorities that Aldridge assaulted him by hitting him in the face, kicking his leg, and ultimately putting him in a headlock while punching him multiple times until security intervened.
Conversely, Aldridge stated she was offended by the card and was discussing it with who she thought were the child’s parents when Dodge unexpectedly snatched it from her. She alleges that she repeatedly requested the return of the card, to no avail, leading to security stepping in to separate them. Neither party pressed charges following the incident.
It was disclosed that the club has temporarily suspended Dodge in response to the event.
Some members of the club feel the suspension is unjustified, arguing that Dodge was merely defending his son’s guest. “He was doing the right thing, and she completely lost it. Is this the new norm for Palm Beach?” one member questioned.
Neither Dodge, Aldridge, nor representatives from the Breakers responded to inquiries for comments.
The status of Aldridge’s membership at the Breakers remains unconfirmed by Page Six.
The Breakers club, with its hefty $500K membership fee, has historically been a gathering spot for the elite, including the Rockefellers, Vanderbilts, Astors, and celebrities like William Randolph Hearst, Cary Grant, Elizabeth Taylor, and Elton John.
The venue is also known for hosting high-profile events, such as the wedding of “Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara and “Magic Mike” actor Joe Manganiello in 2015.
Requests for comment from Dodge, Aldridge, and the Breakers were not returned.
