Abby Inez Releases ‘Bridges’

Last Friday, Abby Inez released her new single ‘Bridges’, a song you will have heard when Abby appeared at a recent Belles and Gals gig in London. The song is simply beautiful and a wonderful introduction to an artist poised to make some serious waves on the scene. I caught up with Abby for a chat about the song this week!

Hi Abby, Congratulations on the release of your single ‘Bridges’ this last weekend. It’s a beautiful track. Can you tell us how the song came about?

Thank you so much, I’m so glad you like it!
I had the title ‘Bridges’ in my head for a long time, and I couldnt shake the feeling of wanting to write a song that was about the different people that come into our lives and act as a sort of bridge. A bridge between being in one place to another, physically and emotionally.

The production is wonderful, giving the song an almost haunting feel, while your emotive vocals draw you into the track completely. How excited were you when you heard the final master?

I’ve been fortunate enough to work with the wonderful Jon Wright on this track. We both had a similar thoughts on how we wanted it to sound throughout the recording process. Jon was kind enough to allow me to sit in on producing this track so that we were both happy with the final mix. There would be moments where we both would go ‘THATS IT’ and I knew we’d create something great. I was so happy to hear the final master as it’s just what I had envisioned for the song. He’s great!

The song featured a co-writer who is very familiar to us at Belles and Gals! What’s it like to co-write with Liv Austen?

I can’t praise this girl enough. She’s such a talent and I feel very privileged to be able to not only work with her, but to have made such a lovely friend in the process.
We’ve written together about 3 times now, and every time I leave with a song I absolutely love. She’s a hard worker and an AMAZING cook. She’s always treating me to 5* meals on our writing breaks, is there nothing this girl can’t do?

Can you give us a quick insight into your career so far? And which artists have influenced you?

I’ve been so blessed to have had so many amazing experiences in the last few years. I was in a Duo called ‘Darline’ , and we were fortunate enough to play some amazing shows along the likes of The Shires, Anne Marie, Tinie Tempah. We even had a shot at representing the UK in Eurovision!
A few years on, Cara and I have decided to embark on a different adventure and for me that looks like starting my Solo career under the covering of Country Music, which is completely my first love!
I’m heavily influenced by well respected artists in the country scene such as Taylor Swift, Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris ect.. but I grew up listening to lots of different artists. Whitney Houston and Celine Dion were some favourites. Maybe that’s where I get the love of a good ballad from!

To finish, tell us where we can see you next, and where can we grab the single?

I’ve just moved to London, so I’m booking gigs and looking for the best places as we speak! Keep an eye out on my social media for when I announce my next live show. You can stream/buy ‘Bridges’ on all major platforms! Thank you so much! Much love x
