Caylee Hammack Releases “History of Repeating“ From Upcoming Album
Fresh from her stunning performances at C2C a few weeks ago, Caylee Hammack has given us another taste of what to expect from her sophomore album by releasing a second track from the project, “History Of Repeating” (stream/download here https://strm.to/HistoryOfRepeating) .
The Capitol Records Nashville/Snakefarm in the UK artist also co-produced the new track alongside Dann Huff, a song in which she admits to repeating old habits when it comes to heartbreak, behaviour which ends up with her calling her ex in the hope he’ll answer.
Co-written back in 2021 by Caylee alongside Ashley McBryde and Nicolette Hayford (aka Pillbox Patti) it shows multi-faceted Caylee’s vulnerable side both lyrically and in her raw, emotional vocal delivery, in stark contrast to the attacking, empowering lead single “All Or Nothing“.
As Caylee explains, “Love is my weakness, my kryptonite even. It’s the small girl inside of me looking for true love, and really believing I’m going to find it. This song is a very honest admission of some bad decisions that I think anyone can relate to making… those decisions sometimes we repeat, even though we know it’s not what is best for us. The humanness of our habits and hearts and a swig of Jack Daniel’s for flavour.”
The accompanying video sees Caylee standing by a carousel wearing the red dress she mentions at the start of the song… in my mind a metaphor for things going round and round in circles in a similar vein to the behaviour she repeats after a relationship split.
