He thought he was rescuing a sheep—but it turned out to be something else
This bizarre French customer habit is driving shop owners crazy
Over two decades after launching its original fragrance line, this brand has decided to reinvent it. Explore these irresistibly scented, affordably priced bottles.
The memory of scents. The story began 24 years ago when a small British makeup brand ventured into perfumes. It released three scents: fig, rose, and mimosa, exclusively available at its London store. Gradually, these fragrances faded away. Fast forward to the near present, while digging through its archives, the brand stumbled upon these early launches. It then decided to revive these three products with a modern twist, driven by one guiding idea: to offer these perfumes at low prices, making them accessible to everyone.
In November 2025, the dream finally materializes. “Having this heritage, being able to dive back into what existed 24 years ago—the formulas, the scents of the era—convinced us it was time to bring back these three iconic and classic fragrances and elevate them to a new level of sophistication,” explains Amanda Bell, Global Director of Education and Creative Artistry at Pixi Beauty. More than two decades after the originals were launched, the three new scents are envisioned. The fig, for instance, previously very sweet, is now fully explored: it includes the leaves, fruit, bark, and wood of the tree, all enhanced by citrus. “At first, the scent feels earthy, very grounded, then the freshness of the citrus mixed with an almost intoxicating iris comes through. It’s very different from what people might expect,” continues the expert. Meanwhile, the red rose is blended with lily of the valley, jasmine, bergamot, and green leaf notes. “Generally, when you think of rose, you envision the English countryside’s gardens—those very classic floral fragrances. But this one is truly different.” Lastly, mimosa is combined with pear, amber, violet, and ylang-ylang for a sunny and bright scent. The secret of this collection lies in these unusual, “almost atypical,” combinations, admits Amanda Bell. An added bonus? It’s possible to layer by mixing the scents together.
Another aspect that makes this collection unique is Pixi Beauty’s pricing strategy. “In recent years, we’ve seen perfume prices skyrocket. It’s almost become: ‘If it doesn’t cost 360 euros, what are you even doing with your life?’ We’ve returned to this snobbery and elitism that not everyone can afford,” laments Amanda Bell. Thus, the brand wanted to move in the opposite direction and offer artisanal eau de parfums at a reasonable cost. A single bottle is priced at 17.95 €, while the trio is available for 35.95 €.
Twenty-four years later, the circle is complete. Pixi succeeds in its gamble: to transform a nostalgic legacy into a modern, accessible, and above all, highly desirable collection.
