Despite a disappointing outcome for the Kansas City Chiefs this past Sunday, the spotlight shone brightly on Camp Snap, the company behind the viral CS-8 video camera seen in the hands of Taylor Swift in the VIP section.
“It was quite unbelievable,” Camp Snap founder Brian Waldman shared with Page Six Style, revealing he started receiving messages the moment the pop star was spotted using the vintage-style camera.

The CS-8 is a contemporary homage to the classic Super 8, designed without a screen, preventing playback or deletion of videos until they are uploaded to another device.
“This simplicity helps keep you in the moment, fully immersed and concentrating on capturing rather than previewing,” explains Waldman, who is driven by the emotional resonance and aesthetic of old-school home movies.
Though Waldman isn’t certain how the “Fate of Ophelia” artist came across Camp Snap, he observes that she too appreciates the emotive quality of vintage items.
“Her work often reflects a romanticization of memory and time, which aligns with the nostalgic essence of our camera,” Waldman notes.
“The CS-8 promotes a kind of creative spontaneity that’s perfect for someone who might jot down lyrics on a napkin whenever inspiration strikes, no matter where she is,” he adds.
The camera also integrates seamlessly with social media; it not only records unlimited footage with retro filters but also supports various aspect ratios including 9:16 for TikTok or Instagram Reels, and traditional formats like 16:9, 1:1, or 4:3.
Waldman, along with his wife Melanie, founded Camp Snap as a screen-free way for their children to document their summer camp adventures without the drawbacks of disposable cameras.
“I aimed to create a modern option that was just as engaging and intentional, minus the distractions of screens,” he explains.
Since its inception, the brand has gained popularity among a diverse group from creative professionals to wedding parties and social media influencers.
