Though rumors swirl about their personal differences, particularly in political views, the actresses stood united with their fellow cast members to promote the new Disney live-action film.
Rachel Zegler, cast as the iconic Snow White, graced the red carpet in an elegant light pink strapless dress adorned with butterfly appliqués and a corset-style bodice that cascaded into a full-length skirt. Her hair was styled in a chic updo, complemented with a sparkling diamond necklace and earrings set.
The 23-year-old actress enhanced her features with a makeup palette of smoky eyeshadow, voluminous mascara, a touch of warm blush, and a glossy nude lipstick.
Meanwhile, Gal Gadot, portraying the nefarious Evil Queen, opted for a dramatic look in a sheer black lace dress that featured a ruffled miniskirt layered over a sweeping floor-length skirt. The 39-year-old actress styled her hair in a smooth middle part and accessorized with a striking jeweled necklace complete with a tassel.
Despite their smiles for the cameras, sources suggest that the relationship between the two stars is less than friendly.
Behind the Glamour: Reported Tensions
A source confided to People magazine that Gadot and Zegler share little in common, noting that Gadot’s life as a mother of four starkly contrasts with Zegler’s experiences. The significant age difference between them only compounds their disconnect.
Political disagreements have also intensified the atmosphere, with Zegler publicly supporting Palestine during the recent Israel-Hamas conflict, in contrast to Gadot’s vocal support for Israel, especially after the attacks in October 2024. Gadot, originally from Israel, also served in the Israeli military.
Zegler has previously critiqued the original “Snow White” film for its problematic romantic narrative, expressing her discomfort to Variety in 2022 about the prince’s behavior in the story. She emphasized that the new adaptation would steer clear of these elements, stating, “There’s a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird. So we didn’t do that this time.” Her stance has drawn criticism from some quarters, accusing the film and Zegler of being overly progressive or “woke.”
According to another source, Gadot is feeling the strain from the ongoing drama associated with the movie.
In the lead-up to the premiere, there were reports that Disney intended to reduce the scale of the event. Confirmed by Variety, the red carpet was limited to photographers and Disney’s internal crew, with all interviews conducted by Disney employees.
The premiere, while visually spectacular and star-studded, hinted at underlying tensions and showcased the complex dynamics off-screen that contrast with the fairytale portrayal on-screen.
