Individuals over the age of 18 may qualify for an activity bonus that supplements your professional income under certain conditions. This assistance is paid on the 5th of the month by either Caf or MSA (if you are under the agricultural scheme). Here are the amounts, conditions, and procedures for obtaining it:
Am I Eligible for the Caf Activity Bonus?
You may be eligible for the activity bonus if you meet certain income conditions and depending on your situation.
- You are employed as a salaried worker or self-employed,
- or you receive compensation for partial unemployment or technical unemployment,
- You are over 18 years old,
- Your income is modest,
- You reside in France permanently,
- If you are a student or an apprentice, your monthly net social income must be higher than 1104.25 euros.
What is the Amount of the Activity Bonus?
The basic amount (base amount for the calculation of the activity bonus) is 633.21 euros if you live alone and 949.82 euros for couples (without dependent children), according to the French administration’s website. This base amount depends on the household composition and the number of dependent children. It includes 61% of the household’s income plus any additional resources. Note that “the net social amount is considered when determining the base amount of the activity bonus.” Additionally, there is an increase for single parents.

How to Apply for the Activity Bonus?
The application process is conducted online at www.service-public.fr. After submitting your application, you must wait for Caf’s approval to receive the funds in your account starting from the first day of the month in which you submitted your request. The activity bonus is paid on the 5th of each month.
How Long Can You Receive the Activity Bonus?
The activity bonus is paid as long as your resources and situation continue to meet all eligibility criteria, according to Caf. However, the amount awarded remains fixed for a period of three months. Depending on your situation, you must report your income online every quarter to apply for a new evaluation of your request.
