Following the premiere of her new movie “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” the actress made a striking fashion statement inspired by Sarah Jessica Parker’s beloved character from “Sex and the City.” This style homage came right after she showcased her Carrie-esque fashion sense on the red carpet earlier that day.
The standout piece was a revival of the notorious “naked dress” from DKNY, originally worn by Parker at the 1997 VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards and featured in the first season of the hit TV series. Ortega’s version of the dress sported a deeper shade of pink, adding a fresh twist to the iconic outfit.
Enrique Melendez, Ortega’s stylist, shared the look on his Instagram Story, expressing his gratitude: “Thanks for giving me my Sex in the City life and playing along @jennaortega, no matter how annoying I get. And @dkny for the most iconic dress to out and about in NYC!”
While celebrating at the party alongside her “Hurry Up Tomorrow” co-star The Weeknd, Ortega completed her ensemble with a long, oatmeal-colored fur coat draped over the petite dress and paired it with strappy metallic pumps.
Earlier in the day at the New York premiere, Ortega turned heads in another memorable outfit directly inspired by “Sex and the City.” She chose the famous newspaper dress designed by John Galliano for Dior’s fall 2000 collection, which includes a cowl neckline and an asymmetrical hem, and which went viral on social media.
The patterned dress was notably worn by Carrie in the third season of “Sex and the City” and again in the 2010 sequel movie “Sex and the City 2.”
To complement the legendary outfit, Ortega accessorized with a simple pendant necklace, a matching bracelet, several diamond-encrusted rings, and shiny metallic heels.
With these recent fashion choices, fans are left wondering if Ortega will continue to draw inspiration from Carrie Bradshaw’s wardrobe for upcoming appearances on her press tour. Could there be a third or even fourth Carrie-inspired look on the horizon? Only time will tell.
