To lose weight without drastically changing your diet, simply adopt this daily habit.
Do you want to shed some pounds but dread the idea of food restrictions? Fear not, it’s entirely achievable! A fitness coach suggests that you can burn fat by incorporating a straightforward tip into your routine.
Keep in mind, to eliminate unwanted weight, you need to consume fewer calories than you burn—known as a caloric deficit. This can be achieved by either eating less or increasing physical activity. However, if you’re not a fan of hitting the gym, running, or attending group fitness classes, there’s a simpler method to reach your weight loss goals. This tip was shared by Joana Barbara on her Instagram account @joanabfitness, and it’s something anyone can do. In a video, she explains that by walking 20,000 steps a day at a moderate pace for one month, you can lose 4 kilograms of fat without altering your diet. Intriguing, right? “Did you know that walking 20,000 steps a day burns about 1,000 calories? That adds up to a 7,000 calorie deficit over a week, which means losing about one kilogram of fat,” the coach explains. However, reaching 20,000 steps a day is quite a challenge. She recommends becoming “more active throughout the day and possibly adding an hour-long walk in the evening.” It’s a significant time commitment, but the results on your body, especially your abdominal area, can be seen quite rapidly. Walking uses energy and burns fat with minimal effort.
Under the coach’s video, some followers expressed their skepticism. “20,000 steps would be great, but it’s unrealistic for most people. It takes a lot of time that many do not have,” one comment read. Another person shared, “I walk every day – down 40 kilograms.” Regardless, walking is beneficial for your health. So for those working from home, consider investing in a standing desk and a walking treadmill.
