In a conversation with Fox News Digital, the 66-year-old actress, soon to appear in the faith-based film “The Unbreakable Boy,” shared her optimism about Trump’s second term in office.

Heaton hopes that everyone will see America moving in the right direction, feel proud of their country, and appreciate their nationality. She said, “I want everybody to feel that America is on the right track, feel proud of America and grateful.”

Heaton, known for her role in “Everybody Loves Raymond,” attributes her appreciation for American citizenship to her travels abroad for charity work. Since 2015, when she became the inaugural celebrity ambassador for World Vision, a Christian international aid organization, Heaton has visited countries like Rwanda, Jordan, and Uganda. During these trips, she met with refugees and advocated for impoverished individuals, as detailed on World Vision’s website. She also supports children in Zambia and Guatemala through sponsorship.

“Traveling extensively with World Vision and other groups has really opened my eyes,” Heaton remarked. “It truly is a privilege to live in this country.”

She added, “There’s so much opportunity here. My husband immigrated from England, a place with rigid class structures, and was struck by how in America, people encouraged him to pursue anything and offered support towards achieving his dreams.”

“That’s what I find beautiful about Americans,” Heaton continued. “We want everyone here to feel they can realize their dreams.”

Heaton has been married to British actor and director David Hunt since 1990, and they have four sons together.

The actress also expressed hope that the Trump administration would continue to build on efforts to stabilize the Middle East. High-level officials have indicated that Trump intends to broaden the Abraham Accords, a peace deal initiated during his first term between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

This significant agreement facilitated diplomatic, security, and economic collaborations, including investments, tourism, direct flights, and more between the countries involved.

Before Trump’s recent inauguration, his administration, along with the Biden team, brokered a ceasefire and hostage exchange between Hamas and Israel. They have begun discussing a second phase of this agreement.

“The situation in the Middle East is complex, with a history that spans thousands of years,” Heaton noted. “I’m hopeful, though, that we’ll see some resolution.”

Regarding the recent devastating fires in California, which resulted in 29 deaths and substantial property damage, Heaton criticized state leaders for their unpreparedness and questioned the allocation of taxpayer funds. An advocate for better forestry management and resource availability, she has worked with The LA Dream Center to help with disaster relief.

“Officials claimed the system was overwhelmed, which is expected in a massive fire,” Heaton stated. “It’s imperative that they anticipate these events and prepare adequately. There seems to be a lot of money circulating in LA that isn’t being tracked effectively.”

During her latest interview, Heaton emphasized that California’s government should prioritize maintaining infrastructure and ensuring public safety.

Heaton’s upcoming film, “The Unbreakable Boy,” is based on the book by Scott Michael LeRette with Susy Flory and features an ensemble cast including Zachary Levi and Peter Facinelli. The plot centers on parents learning of their son Austin’s autism and brittle bone disease, facing these challenges with faith and community support.

Heaton shared that the film highlights the power of faith and community support, crucial elements she relies on during tough times. “God is always in control, even in challenging circumstances, and he provides people to support us,” she explained.

Heaton was drawn to the project because of its inspiring true story. “It’s important for us to be open and supportive within our communities, especially for families facing hidden struggles,” she added.

“This film shows the importance of inclusivity in our schools and institutions, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive,” Heaton concluded. “It’s a message that’s very much needed today.”
