Critical Acclaim for Katt’s Performance
Steven Soderbergh commended Katt’s acting in a 2002 interview with the Los Angeles Times, describing him as “absolutely fearless.”
Katt expressed to the publication that the role allowed him to channel his own frustrations encountered while seeking acting opportunities into his character.
He noted a stark contrast in the atmosphere of desperation between Los Angeles and New York, stating that in New York, the desperation was less palpable. “In LA, there’s a pervasive sense of ‘low-level malevolence,’ as Stanley Kubrick once described, which eventually wears you down,” he explained.
