Road to C2C Festival #3 – Mackenzie Porter
Playing the Arena’s Spotlight Stage in London on Friday and Glasgow the following day, MacKenzie Porter is an artist who caught our attention here at Belles and Gals some time back and she is rapidly gaining international acclaim with her distinct pop-country style.
The “triple threat” singer/song/actress was born in Canada and raised on a cattle and bison ranch in Alberta but is now based in Nashville and signed to Big Loud Records. Her first American release was the hugely successful 2020 EP “Drinkin’ Songs : The Collection” which included her three Canada Country chart toppers “About You“, “These Days” and “Seeing Other People” …MacKenzie is the first female artist to have three consecutive #1s on Canadian Country Radio since Shania Twain.
Her many other accolades in recent years include spending six weeks at #1 Stateside with the Dustin Lynch collaboration “Thinking ‘Bout You“, joining the prestigious CMT “Next Women of Country” in 2021 (making her Opry debut that year too) and being named the “Discovery Artist Of The Year” in the 2022 Music Row Awards.
Having released several singles in the past couple of years, MacKenzie is currently working on a new album and who knows we may get an early sneak listen to some of the songs while she’s over here.
